Parent Carer Support Group

You are invited to meet once a month in the school multi-purpose room where discussions about education, wellbeing, school support for families, parenting and many other topics that may arise from the complex job of raising children.

On some occasions we will organise support from outside the school that may include parenting tips, health advise or interesting reading that may assist us in our endeavours to do the very best we can for children.

Some meetings may be a time for parents/carers to simply catch up and have a coffee. The group will set the agenda based on the feedback provided to us.

There are many benefits of parental engagement at school. Parents make a difference, in fact, you make the greatest contribution to your child’s learning at home. Research shows that family led learning is vital. This involves all the ways parents/carers support children through everyday activities and during their time at home.

I look forward to strengthening our partnerships and working together. Please let me know if you are interested in being part of the Parent Group at Buronga by returning the slip below. Joining the group does not mean you are locked into every session. Simply let us know if you can come and we will organise the rest.

This will be a chance for us to meet and greet and for me to gain a better understanding of what you would like to get out of the group. We can begin to set the agenda based on what you say. I will provide some “Food for Thought” that may be useful in relation to values education.
